We are so blessed to have the Word of God in our hands. At this time, we have the Word of God, the Holy Bible in every shape, form and fashion -- several versions, printed in diverse ways, large print, study guides, commentaries and technology has afforded another plethora of access. We have God's Word animated, audible, and accessible through cyber, internet and online capacities. There is no reason God's people can give for not knowing God's Will. Simply stated, God's will is His Word.
Now, this article will point out a few major proponents of His will: salvation, kingdom living and personal action. This is just a tip, a few nuggets...a start, and hopefully, an enticement. And, as we get into the Word for ourself....more and more; more and more - Hallelujah! It is so thrilling and awesome where the Word and Holy Spirit will take us in our experiences, our engagements and our understanding of our Father's will and plan. Hallelujah!
First, let's consider.. and, I am sharing some context too:
2 Peter 3:8-10 King James Version (KJV)
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
From this passage, we can see it is not God's will that any should perish. Now, will many perish? Emphatically, yes. Why? Because God does not create robots...the beings God created - us, have freewill. We can choose whether to connect with the Father and receive His gift of salvation. Hallelujah! We can see when Moses laid out the principles of Blessings and Cursings in Deuteronomy 8 - we can choose as they, the children of the Israelites were given opportunity to choose. We can choose a life of Life or a life of Death. Blessed the Lord, the is ultimate Love. God is love.
When it comes to Kingdom Living, what is God's will concerning us? This we can find in the model prayer; that has been the most recited prayer since it was penned in Christiandom. And, it is a model, an outline, if you will - that is the reply Jesus gave to His disciples when He received the request to, Lord, teach us to pray. Now in Matthew and in Luke you will find, Your kingdom come, Your will be down on earth as it is in heaven. Did you notice, that what the heavens allowed, or operated, that is what we are to pray for our allowance and operation. That is the kingdom living, God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Saints, there is no sickness in heaven, the praise of God fills the heaven and that is why it is so important for the praise of the Lord to continually be in our mouth. Hallelujah! That is why John wrote by the unction of Holy Spirit, I would that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. Hallelujah! We can live Kingdom living on earth. Ain't that good news. That is God's will and that is how it will be, when it is all said and done. For there shall be a new heaven, a new earth and a new Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
And, because this topic is so wide and broad -- and it is so awesome, let's take a quick look at the third proponent of this article and -- then, we can get in His precious Word and His Word get into us, thank You Holy Spirit. That is, an individual action that we can employ which exudes power, blesses His majesty and keeps us in victory. Okay, without further adieu, give thanks unto the Lord, Hallelujah. Here is the scripture: 1st Thessalonians 5 (and, this passage is so rich with His will, that we will take a chunk)
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
We can see, verse 18 is highlighted for it specifically states "this is the will of God...concerning you." That means us. We want to stay in an attitude of gratitude, stay in a poise of praise toward our wonderful Father and awesome God. Hallelujah! Thank You Lord!!! Now, the focus is on thanks giving, I heard it said, well we can thank God in every thing; but not for everything! What? That is a trick of the devil. For in Ephesians, also in Chapter 5, we find to thank God for all things in verse 20: "...giving thanks at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to the God..." Hallelujah! There is so much power and victory in this that it will cause us to leap and dance before the Lord as strongholds are torn down and destroyed. Thank You Jesus. When I discovered this, it was by hindsight. Thank God after a night of thanksgiving to the Lord, I reaped so many awesome rewards for years and was enlightened to the fact...that God loves thankfulness, a grateful heart. Hallelujah! For that is the will of God concerning me... concerning us.
Let us be about our Father's business and be found in His will. His will is loving, kind and just. His will is exciting, invigorating and fulfilling. His will is infinte in learning, growing and glowing. God's kingdom come, God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen!
